Perhaps nobody needs to be told how a face scrub works. The cosmetic's task is to remove the layer of dead cells. Such a layer not only makes the skin look tired and older, but also makes it harder for the active ingredients of cosmetics to reach the deeper layers of the skin. Face scrubs are most simply divided into mechanical and enzymatic. Find out how they differ from each other, what drawbacks and advantages they have, and which of the groups our products can be placed in.
Mechanical scrubs are scrubs with coarse, hard particles (e.g. sugar scrubs) that literally abrade the layer of dead cells. They work practically immediately, but are not recommended for sensitive skin. They can leave visible redness and irritation. An enzymatic face scrub, on the other hand, uses chemical processes in its action. The enzymes the cosmetic contains reduce the stickiness of dead skin cells, that is, they dissolve them. Used properly, an enzymatic scrub is gentler and safer for the skin.
Mokosh scrubs are above all enzymatic scrubs, which remove dead cells gently but effectively. In some of them we have included, among other things, delicate particles of Dead Sea mud or mineral corundum, which support the process but do not burden even very sensitive skin. Importantly, each of our natural face scrubs is free of unnecessary chemicals – the skin absorbs only what is healthy or neutral for it.
The product we are particularly proud of is our Active face scrub Rose & blueberry. It has won many industry awards and continues to receive glowing reviews from existing and new users. The cosmetic is a combination of corundum particles and extremely effective enzymes. Wild rose seed oil regenerates and hydrates the skin, while extracts of blueberry, Damask rose, vanilla, grape and raspberry neutralize the action of free radicals. Dead cells are removed by the papaya and pineapple enzyme the product contains, as well as the mineral corundum particles. This special cosmetic for sensitive but also normal skin additionally regulates sebum secretion.
Everyone has surely heard of the health properties of a Dead Sea mud scrub. Dead Sea mud is one of the cosmetics we offer, which works both as a body product (especially effective in the fight against cellulite) and as a face cosmetic. This scrub softens the skin superbly, mattifies, cleanses, detoxifies and nourishes it – it is an irreplaceable cosmetic for normal skin. The mud particles can, however, irritate sensitive skin and skin with rosacea; in their case it is therefore better to choose the Rose & blueberry mentioned above.
That depends on the skin type. A scrub for dry and sensitive skin should be applied 1 or 2 times a month. It should be left on the skin for a maximum of 5–10 minutes, so that the enzymes have time to work. On the first application it is worth shortening the time to a maximum of 3–5 minutes, to assess how the skin reacts to the cosmetic.
A scrub for oily skin can be applied more often, up to 2–4 times a month. It is worth waiting 10–15 minutes before rinsing the cosmetic off. The cosmetic is used in a similar way for combination skin, but it is worth observing the skin and, if necessary, reducing the frequency of use or shortening the application time.
Remember that after a scrub the skin may tingle slightly and be red. This is a natural effect of the action of the enzymes, which disappears by the next day at the latest.
