In this category you will find face essences, that is, light cosmetics that effectively combine the action of a care serum with a toner that restores the skin's proper pH. Their main task is intensive hydration, soothing and supporting the skin's natural regeneration. Products of this type are absorbed quickly, leaving the skin soft, radiant and perfectly prepared for the next steps of care – e.g. a cream. An essence can be used 1–2 times a day in the morning and evening ritual, but nothing prevents you from using it instead during the day to refresh and nourish the skin.
How do toning face essences work?
As with other cosmetics, it is worth taking a moment to analyze the composition of the cosmetic, to learn what its main action is. In essence, every soothing essence lowers the skin's pH, which after strong cleansing cosmetics is too high. Lowering the pH makes the skin absorb the other precious ingredients of the cosmetic better.

The white rose hydrolate it contains effectively refreshes and regenerates the skin, lactic acid gently exfoliates dead cells, and hyaluronic acid binds water in them. A toning essence has the task of slowing down skin ageing processes. However, this is not the only effect of its regular use. How to apply toning face essences?
Because a face essence resembles a toner somewhat in consistency and action, many people think it should be applied in a similar way with a cotton pad. Nothing could be more wrong! It is better to spray the essence onto your hands and press it gently into the skin with your fingers (giving yourself a stimulating massage at the same time). Working with the fingers, we have more control over the amount of cosmetic spread on the skin. A pad will unfortunately absorb the excess of it (which is desirable with a cleansing toner, but not with a care cosmetic).
Essences from Mokosh are natural cosmetics and mostly vegan. Remember, however, that even natural ingredients can cause allergic reactions. For this reason, before starting regular use of a new essence, first do an allergy test on a small patch of skin. If the product contains lactic acid, it should not be used by pregnant women and breastfeeding mothers.
